Welcome to Omega Road Winery! We are a family-run winery producing unique, small-lot wines to be enjoyed with friends and family. 

As winemakers at Omega Road Winery, Alexandra and Ken strive to maintain varietal characteristics while building complex flavors. They want Omega Road Winery to be more than a place to enjoy great wine, but truly a place to build friendships. Combining Ken’s knowledge, Alexandra’s enthusiasm, and their combined love of beautiful wine and personal connections, Omega Road Winery was born in 2011.  After several years spent crafting wine in small facilities, Ken and Alexandra opened the doors to the tasting room in May 2017. They are thrilled to open their doors each Saturday and Sunday between noon and 5:00p.

Meet the Family

Ken Henkelman

Ken’s love of wine started early on once returned home to Napa after serving in the Army in the 1960s.  While finishing his degree, Ken worked at the renowned Robert Mondavi Winery and Chateau Montelena under the direction of esteemed winemaker Michael Grgich, learning the necessary work to craft amazing wines.  While life took him in a different direction, Ken’s love of wine was always present, and he returned to the craft nearly 15 years ago as a home winemaker.  After honing his craft and expanding his knowledge, he joined forces with his daughter to shift their efforts from a hobby into Omega Road Winery.

Alexandra Henkelman

Alexandra has always had an interest in wine. But it wasn’t until she returned to the Bay Area after graduating college that she explored the world of winemaking with her dad. Immediately falling in love, Alexandra was thrilled to dig into the craft of wine. Along with her passion for good wine, Alexandra has a fascination with the way that wine (and good food along with it) brings people together. Building on a foundation of creating great wine, she, along with her dad, started Omega Road Winery.

Nicky Henkelman

Nicky is an integral part of the Omega Road team and wears many hats to support the winery: Controller and Government Liaison, wife, and mom. She loves working in the tasting room and helping guests and friends find their new favorites!

Omega Road started as a dream nearly a decade ago. At first, it was just a spark of an idea. But countless conversations and numerous paper napkin planning sessions later (glass of wine in hand, of course), the concept took shape and the dream of dad and daughter became a reality. Ultimately, everything came down to one simple fact: great wine should bring people together.

The unique wines we craft in Livermore will be the perfect addition to your dinner table, wine cellar, and weekend afternoon. Our wines are available exclusively through the tasting room and here in our online shop - come visit us to find your new favorite and make new friends.
